We all strive to be beautiful on the inside and on the outside, but does beauty have to come at a hefty price? It doesn’t have to! Between your spa treatments, take advantage of natural beauty elements in your home and garden to help keep your skin looking fresh.Facial masks made out of natural fruits, essential oils, and vegetables will help to nourish your skin without the harmful chemicals found in most facial cleansers and masks. Beauty does not require parabens, chemical fragrances, or carcinogens; beauty can be simply found in everyday household ingredients. The most basic facial mask is the Avocado mask. Mash an avocado and smear it all over your face, leave it on for 15 minutes, rinse with cool water, and you will have softer skin instantly. A basic facial scrub is the cornmeal scrub: take some cornmeal and water to make a paste, gently use your fingertips to massage into your face, allow it to dry then rinse, and it will leave your skin glowing. Another wonderful mask is the Banana mask. Use a vitamin E oil and mix it with a mashed banana, smear all over face , leave on for 10 minutes and rinse, you will have an energized moisturized face. For an extra kick in any of the face masks or scrubs, use chamomile, lemon oils, or lavender oils for a soothing effect. When doing any face masks or scrubs, remember to avoid the eye area. Many spas offer facials and full-body scrubs that offer natural elements. I find that many spas are incorporating less chemical based products, and more natural products. This is great news for those who are naturalists, or those who are concerned about aging skin.
